| Bio: | Before reading further, you should know that's I'm a male-to-female pre-op transexual currently transitioning, living day to day as a fem, and hope to have GRS within the next 2 years. Living day to day trying to be that normal 30-something girl; but then again, what is normal? I'm most comfortable in jeans, a tee and sandals with little or no makeup- beautiful. It's hard to accept I'm a “adult” because I have the heart and mind of a kid. Sometimes it works out to my benefit though...yeah I'm just a big kid. Originally from northern OH and moved to WV a couple years ago when I accepted a position. Currently using my philosophy, information technology and library science degrees in an academic environment. Somewhat of a tech chic, and a technophile at that. It's a love/hate relationship of nerding out at the computer trying to get apps to work with the penguin (linux). I <3 my Mac too. As a "recovering gamer", I tend to stick to simple games now- sudoku and Einstein puzzles. I have a Wii but I rarely play it; it's more of a social activity when, and if, guests are here. Thinking about metaphysics, dreaming of happiness, painting/penning/drawing biomorphic shapes and surreal flowers help pass the time when I'm not nerding out at the computer or playing the drums. At one time, I was once very passionate about playing in original progressive metal bands (a combination of like Meshuggah, Tool, Mudvayne and 216). Summer is for cycling on the towpath along the Potomac, walking in town or around the battlefields/national parks; winter is for snow days, watching the road disappear and building snow people, which sit on the library's bench. The silent, interpersonal activities, are sometimes the most fulfilling- watching dust specs glide through the air, smiling at the leaves dancing in the wind and witnessing the tug-a-war between the sun and shadows. Long drives, like back to Cleveland, are reserved for audio books, AM static crashes, car tires resonating and reverberating or listening to one of these songs on repeat: Tool's Eulogy, Reflection, (-) ions, Rosetta Stoned, cover of Merkaba; Tori Amos' Datura, Pink Floyd's Pigs (Three different ones) or APC's Gravity. Life is what you make it; Frank Lloyd Wright's buildings move me (though I've never been in one); King Crimson]] and [Tool drip inspiration and motivation; Ayn Rand writes like I talk in my head; Tommy was fiction. More about me: me = INFP good thunderstorm = nice sunny day = clear starry night happiness > wealth experiencing > feeling > thinking intimacy & romance > sex creating/writing/making music > playing covers dehydration > coffee :) = :P I've been known to start smirking, or even start laughing, when in meetings or during serious conversations. It's not because of something someone said; it's because I've somewhat related a real-life situation to, most often, Family Guy. What I miss about my "old" life (especially about being in Cleveland) is: playing in bands, going to see metal bands, going to clubs (maybe dancing but always finding a spot where I could melt into the couch and enjoy the music vibes), being near my family and friends (what little I had left), riding my bike in the Metroparks. What I don't miss about my "old" life: being who I wasn't. I'm looking for My Other Half (my Hedwig and the Angry Inch reference)- searching for the one person who will compliment me, and I them; the person who will listen to me and not just wait their turn to talk, the Graham Eaton to my Megan Bloomfield (my But I'm a cheerleader reference). Also looking for people to hang with and go out and do things with. -- I have my LJ chat, and other IM and skype accounts, going almost all the time. If you wanna chat, feel free. | |||||
